An emergency situation has arisen at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant as a result of a Russian attack on energy infrastructure in Slavutych, Kyiv region, and the plant is now in a blackout.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Facebook.
“As a result of power surges, the New Safe Confinement, which is a key facility that isolates the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and prevents the release of radioactive materials into the environment, was left without power,” the statement said. (Ukrinform)
