Kharkiv received six trolleybuses from its sister city of Brno, the Czech Republic.
The rolling stock was provided by agreement between Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov and the Brno city authorities.
As reported by the Deputy Director of the Department of Construction and Road Management Volodymyr Matyas, Kharkiv would receive 14 more such trolleybuses in the near future. According to him, the transport is fully ready for operation, since until recently it ran through the Czech city.
“These trolleybuses are low-floor, that is, they meet modern standards. After a number of technical procedures, including an equipment audit and driver training, the transport will be ready to go on routes. It will go on lines in the city center, on Saltivka and in the Novy Budynky area,” said Volodymyr Matyas.
Kharkiv previously received trolleybuses and trams with the assistance of the Brno city authorities and the Brno Transport Company (DPMB). Some of them are already operating in the city. (Kharkiv City Council)
