Poland’s unemployment rate went up to 5.5% in January from 5.2% in December 2022, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on February 23.
Economists polled by PAP expected a 5.4% unemployment figure in the first month of 2023.
The number of registered unemployed measured 857,600 in January against 812,300 in December 2022, GUS also said.
Earlier, the Family and Social Policy Ministry estimated January’s unemployment at 5.5% as well. (PAP/Business World Magazine)
