Deputy Minister of Energy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization Farid Safarov took part in the opening of the international conference Power Summit 2022, which brought together leaders of the European energy sector and major energy companies.
Farid Safarov stressed that Ukraine could become one of the areas for investment by European companies, including the construction of new, efficient and environmentally friendly energy infrastructure.
“The phase of Ukraine’s reconstruction after the war will provide many opportunities, and I invite you to plan now what we can do together. One of the ideas is that the company can choose a region, district or city to help them rebuild their energy infrastructure, make it better, more environmentally friendly and safer,” said the Deputy Minister.
He stressed that Ukraine was already receiving significant assistance and support from the international community in the fight against russian aggression.
“So far, 89 companies have received 300 generators, 45 kilometers of cables, 560 overhead line pylons and 11,000 units of other specialized equipment provided by European companies. We are sincerely grateful to everyone and especially to EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson for leading international assistance. We also appreciate the effective coordination of the Secretariat of the Energy Community,” said the Deputy Minister.
Farid Safarov also noted the support of the European Commission, in particular, in the integration of Ukrainian and European energy markets, as Ukraine could become a reliable supplier of clean electricity, helping Europe get rid of russian gas and coal. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
