In 2021, supplies of raw milk to processing enterprises in Ukraine decreased by 8.9% YoY, to 3.20 million tons.
In particular, 2.48 million tons of milk were purchased from agricultural enterprises (-3.1%) and 554 thousand tons were obtained from households (-24.4%).
In 2021, processing enterprises received the largest supplies of raw milk from agricultural enterprises and households of Vinnytsia region (505.81 thousand tons; -6.5%), Poltava region (350.64 thousand tons; -6.3%), and Kyiv region (279.34 thousand tons, -14.8%). The lowest amount of raw milk in 2021 came from Donetsk region (11.91 thousand tons, -13.2%), Odesa region (11.96 thousand tons; -8.4%) and Ivano-Frankivsk region (18.22 thousand tons, -3.1%).
Purchase prices for raw milk in 2021 increased by 18.8% and totaled an average of UAH 9,385 per ton. Agricultural enterprises were selling raw milk at UAH 9,936 per ton on average (+16%) and households – at UAH 6,921 per ton on average (+24.2%). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
