Despite restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, trade between Ukraine and Uzbekistan increased by 30% YoY in 2020.
This issue was discussed at a meeting of Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Vladyslava Mahaletska and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Abdualiyev, the press service of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported.
“Uzbekistan is an important trade partner of Ukraine, with which we are in constant dialogue. Today we have discussed the deepening of cooperation and determined the directions of our further cooperation,” Mahaletska stressed.
The parties also discussed the need to apply international standards in international trade, as well as the signing of an agreement in the field of plant quarantine. In addition, the parties agreed to initiate an exchange of experience between specialized veterinary higher education institutions. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
