In the first nine months of 2018 the trade balance surplus in Azerbaijan was 19% of the GDP, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Elman Rustamov said at a press conference in Baku on October 30.
Rustamov stressed that export of the non-oil goods in January-September increased by 13% YoY.
Moreover, he stressed that the sharp decline in exchange rates of Azerbaijan’s trading partners did not have a significant impact on the country’s foreign trade balance.
Rustamov added that Azerbaijan’s strategic currency reserves reached $45 billion.
The CBA forecasts that positive trends will continue until the end of 2018. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
