Energy systems of Belarus and Ukraine on October 1, are due to change over to the practice of keeping hourly records of electric power exchange, Belarus’ energy industries concern Belenergo said in a release.
Energy authorities of Belarus and Ukraine earlier signed a corresponding agreement, Belenergo explained.
In 2016 Belarus plans to import electric energy only from Russia after Ukraine fully stopped electricity exports to Belarus and Moldova in 2014 due to the shortage of electric power supply on the domestic market.
In 2017-2018 Belarus is expected to import some 2.5 billion kWh of electric energy per year and stop electric power imports altogether in 2019 after the launch of Belarus’ nuclear power plant in Ostrovets. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
