Ukraine received an additional JPY 65-billion (about $500 million) concessional loan under a loan agreement signed by Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko and President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency Jaika (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka.
The funds are directed to the state budget to finance priority social and humanitarian expenditures, healthcare, etc.
The loan is provided on concessional terms: repayment period is 30 years and interest rate is 1% per annum.
On June 7, the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Japan signed an additional loan agreement issued by the Japan International Cooperation Agency for development policy in the field of emergency economic recovery. The agreement provides for the increase of the loan amount by JPY 65 billion to JPY 78 billion (approximately $600 million).
On May 24, Ukraine received JPY 13.0 billion (about $100 million) under the agreement. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
