Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has met with Google Vice President Karan Bhatia on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos and called on the company to step up its investment and operation in Lithuania.
He also invited Google executives to visit Lithuania.
“Today, Lithuania is professionally ready to accommodate Google’s significantly larger investments in the areas of cyber security, fight against disinformation, payment systems, software development, data centres and other areas,” the Lithuanian president was quoted in a statement released by the presidential press service.
Google has an office in Lithuania, which manages the company’s operation in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
Google Lithuania posted 1.8 million euros in revenue in 2021 and earned a profit of 101,600 euros. The company currently employs 21 people. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
