The Lithuanian government has allowed regular Vilnius-Frankfurt flights to resume on May 10. Flights in Lithuania were allowed to start on April 30, but all inbound flights needed to be approved by the government.
There are no restrictions on outbound flights, “as they will not affect the epidemiological situation in the country,” according to the Transport Ministry.
The German Embassy informed the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry on April 7 that Lufthansa was interested in resuming regular Vilnius-Frankfurt flights.
Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said Lufthansa should be informed about the existing restrictions in Lithuania, for example, the mandatory self-isolation of incoming people.
“The carrier should be informed about that fact that departure from Lithuania is not restricted as of May 4, and arrival is subject to the general rules,” Skvernelis said. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
