The Russian company Modern Aviation Technologies (KB SAT) plans to begin production of the new SR-10 single-engine light aerobatic jet trainer aircraft in 2017.
“Production of the first aircraft is scheduled for the end of 2017. According to the plans of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2018-2019 a pilot batch of aircraft, about 20 jet trainers that will be submitted to the state testing, should be released. Then serial production will start”, said a representative of KB SAT.
The SR-10 aircraft is intended to provide elementary and intermediate flight training for future military fighter aircraft pilots, athletes and amateur pilots.
The SR-10 monoplane jet trainer aircraft is made of modern composite materials. It features aerodynamic design, which enhances the safety during aerobatic maneuvers at high altitudes.
It has an overall length of 9.59 m and a wingspan of 8.40 m. The main wings, fitted to the middle section of the fuselage, are swept forward at an angle of 10 degrees. (Russian Aviation/Business World Magazine)
