By 2018, Mexico may increase its purchases of Russian wheat over 2 times – from nearly 200 thousand tons expected in the current year, to 520 thousand tons, declared the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico, Jose Calzada Rovirosa on June 27.
According to him, if Russia provides wheat at competitive prices and in accordance with the required quality standards, the Mexican industry will consider Russia the important source of supply in 2018.
Also, he noted that during 10 recent years the annual demand for wheat in Mexico totaled more than 3.7 million tons with a tendency of further growth. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
