The turnover of Orkla Foods Latvia reached EUR 29.9 million in 2016. 78% of the company’s turnover consisted of sales in Latvia and 22% of sales in export markets, the company reports.
Last year, Orkla Foods Lativa invested EUR 1 million in production. The company also paid EUR 5.3 million in taxes in 2016.
“In 2016, Orkla Foods Latvia worked with growth. This is especially true for ketchup, mayonnaise and salad dressing categories, in which significant growth continues. The company had released multiple new products in those categories last year. Those products were highly rated by gourmets. One of the most important new products to be presented last year was Spilva ketchups without starch,” Orkla Foods Latvia manager Lolita Bemhena says.
“Orkla Foods Latvia’s financial results for 2016, when compared with 2015, are comparable to a degree because Spilva and Gutta worked as separate companies until December 2015, when the merging process was completed,” say the company’s representatives.
“The company’s sales volumes in Latvia accounted for EUR 23.4 million. In export markets, sales accounted for EUR 6.5 million. The most significant export volume increase in 2016 was noted in Estonia and Finland,” says Orkla Foods Latvia manager.
The Top 3 export markets for Orkla Foods Latvia products are Estonia, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
The company exports its products to countries around the world: US, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Canada, Russia, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Norway, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, and Germany. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
